Even the strongest and most resilient of us have days when we feel low, demotivated, and unable to cope with life’s challenges. Such feelings are normal, but in some cases, they can be a sign of burnout. If it is the latter, perhaps you need to change the way you approach or tackle such situations. Here are some ways to build resilience and instil positive thinking.
1. Practice Self-Love: Thankfully, the idea of ‘self-love’ is gaining momentum as many life coaches and therapists encourage people to use positive affirmations throughout the day. –‘I am capable’, ‘I am wonderful’, ‘I can easily handle this’, are a few common affirmations, but you can go above and beyond, addressing issues that bother you.
3. Maintain A Gratitude Journal: As per study from various sources, maintaining a gratitude journal gradually helps you become more positive and appreciative of everything you have. The attitude of gratitude magically transforms the trajectory of one’s life.
4. Surround Yourself With The Right People: Human bonds can either be toxic or truly nourishing. One of the best ways to escape from your own negativity is to be around people who are progressive, productive and positive. Look for people who make you feel happy and alive.
5. Prioritise Physical And Mental Wellness: There is no substitute for exercise! Engage in some sort of physical exercise at least 3-4 times during the week. In addition, right and pack in plenty of nutrients.
6. Set Boundaries: Whether it is your personal professional life, setting boundaries on when to stop working or socialising plays a vital role in avoiding unnecessary burnouts.
7. Get Enough Sleep: This is so underrated, but absolutely essential. In fact a person’s mood, and how irritable they are, is an indicator of how well they are sleeping. Plus, your overall wellness depends on it!
