If you are in a relationship/married/living-in with your partner, you would be familiar with the guilt-tripping pattern of devoting all your weekends to making up for the time not spent during the weekdays. Firstly, it is a huge burden to carry on your shoulders and secondly, it doesn’t even come close to solving your problem of finding time for one another.
Why create differentiation among days? Let’s figure out ways to make time on a daily basis.
Happy meals
Prepare your meals together. Put on music that both of you enjoy listening to so you can groove to it while cooking. If not music then it is the best time to talk to each other. You never know, the conversations can be so engrossing at times, that they may have long faded out the kitchen noises behind you.
Working it out
You can either opt for a membership together at a sports/wellness club where you can work out and participate in other activities that interest both of you. For instance, swimming, playing a game of squash, table tennis, Zumba and more such recreational activities. If both of you prefer working out at home then you kill two birds with one stone – a workout companion as well as a personalised trainer who will motivate you to squat those extra five reps.
Date nights
Quite often, when couples have been in a relationship for long, they tend to take each other for granted and forget to take the efforts. Make it a habit of taking each other out on dates, in turns, to places old and new to keep the charm and the butterflies in your stomach fluttering. This can easily be planned on a regular day post work.
Pass the love note
Writing love notes or letters can never go out of style. There are going to be times in the week when both your work schedules are not going to match, you will be fortunate enough to just see the other’s sleepy face before stepping out for work. At times like these, writing notes to each other will never fail to leave a wide smile on your face. So, keep passing those cute love notes!
Goodbye ritual
Make sure that both of you take the time to see each other off before leaving for work. Be it by dropping the other at a bus/train station or just seeing off at the doorstep. It may seem like nothing but a gesture as simple as this holds great value in a relationship.
