A snack that we are all too familiar with and have always ordered off the menu at family dinners. This restaurant-style Amritsari paneer pakoda is soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. An easy starter that takes less than 30 mins to prepare.
INGREDIENTS
* 500 grams fresh paneer
* 1 1/2 tablespoons besan
* 2 teaspoons ginger-garlic paste
* salt to taste
* 1/2-1 teaspoon red chilli powder
* 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
* 1 tablespoon kasoori methi hand crushed
* 1-2 tablespoons water to make a paste
* 1/2 teaspoon hing
* 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
* 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
* Chaat masala & paprika to sprinkle on top
* Oil for frying
INSTRUCTIONS
* Mix all the ingredients to make the slurry. Add more water to adjust the consistency, as shown in the video.
* Cut the paneer into cubes and add it to the marinade and coat the cubes nicely.
* Keep aside for 20 minutes for the paneer to absorb all the spices.
* Heat oil in a pan.
* Once hot carefully drop the marinated paneer pieces in the oil and fry till these are golden brown.
* Fry the cubes in batches, making sure you do not overcrowd them (this brings down the oil temperature.
* Take it out on a kitchen towel to absorb any excess oil.
* Sprinkle chaat masala and paprika while still hot and serve.
