Being the eldest child, Dr. Chitra Natrajan had to shoulder the responsibilities at home to earn, provide, educate and help her siblings settle. It is only after everybody at home were settled in their respective lives is when she focused on hers.
Mrs. Natrajan conceived after eight years of being married and gave birth to a girl but lost the child. It was a big setback in her life and age gradually caught up as well. After pondering over whether she should consider natural childbirth at this age or not, she consulted a gynae at KEM for an expert’s opinion. The gynae explained the complications that may or may not come with natural childbirth at the given age and also gave her the suggestion to adopt, if she’s interested.
Mrs. Natrajan and her husband really wanted to have a child, especially a girl child as she had lost one at birth. She embarked on the journey to adopt with the help of her colleague’s mother-in-law, who played a crucial role in adopting her beloved daughter, Vidya.
Life has only been looking up for Mrs. Natrajan ever since. To all the parents and single mothers out there, Mrs. Natrajan has only one thing to say, ‘If you feel that there won’t be a child, natural child, you must adopt. If you can take one, give them a good life, good well-being, good upbringing, you should. And if it’s a girl, all the better!’
