“Failure doesn’t last forever. To achieve success, you have to keep working hard. Keep fighting.” – MC Mary Kom
Mary Kom isn’t just a boxer – she’s an inspiration. She has proven time and again that champions aren’t born – they are made by their choices, efforts, resilience and purpose.
The six-time world champion and Olympic medallist has faced several challenges in the ring. But some of her toughest fights have been fought outside it. From overcoming gender discrimination and societal stereotypes to enduring serious injuries, several incidents at different phases of her career have taught her that resilience is all you need to level back up again. She owns her story with pride and gratitude.
The setback at the 2020 Olympics was difficult, followed by the severe ACL injury during the Commonwealth Games 2022 trials. But the champion has refused to let setbacks break. She wants to inspire every woman to realise that their dreams matter, and their achievements matter. Every woman should take pride in how far she has come, irrespective of which field she is in. Her message for women in sports is powerful – “Never stop fighting for what you want”
