The room fills with a whole new energy as Ruhee Dosani walks in. A content creator and influencer whose videos can brighten up anyone's day, Dosani's presence makes us want to shed our inhibitions and shake a leg.
In a lively printed shirt, a hat and wearing her signature long braid, Dosani sat down for a quick cup of coffee and opened up her wholesome soul to team Her Circle.
How did she decide to become a content creator behind such fun, heartening videos? Dosani says it goes back to the days when she used to do little performances in her society for festivals such as Ganpati. She said she would see even seniors who were several decades older than her enjoy it. “They would always be laughing and clapping. So I thought, if I can make them laugh, if I can make that age group like happy, I can make any age group happy,” Dosani expressed.
Today, her videos are being loved all over and even though she is currently residing in the United States, back home, her fandom grows.
Having said that, Dosani's mom is often featured in her videos, being a total cool babe! We asked her if that required a lot of convincing and Dosani pointed out it's actually the opposite!
Her mom loves creating content with her. In fact, Dosani points out they are similar in many things. “I am my mumma's copy. Typical. Very much,” Dosani says. She adds how in the morning the mother-daughter duo often enjoys Coke Studio while going on with their general routines. In fact, she points out her mom has more energy and often lasts longer at parties than she does.
If you’re curious about how she plans her content, she said she keeps a strategy but leaves room for spontaneity as that often ends up generating content that works well. She said if her heart feels like it, she does.
Dosani pointed out that coming to India was part of her strategy. She wanted to collab and grow. “But I genuinely wanted to do meet and dance with people,” Dosani expressed. Having said that, she pointed out when something doesn’t do well, she does get sad. In that moment, she indulges in comfort food. “I actually get sad, sometimes, and I feel like every creator goes through it, right? Because certain pieces of content you like but others may not. I sleep on it and the next day I'll put extra effort on my new organic videos,” Dosani explained.
Dosani credits her mom for her optimism and energy. “I get it from her. Also because I've seen my mom. She's been through a lot. She's a single mother and is my dad, my mom, my everything. And let it be anything she's going through like she's always smiling, always happy,” Dosani explains.
