A career in films might not be in the offing for Navya Naveli Nanda after all. Inspired by the strong women in her family — in particular, her grandmother, actor, politician Jaya Bachchan, Navya talks about her motivation behind her fight against gender inequality in India and raising awareness on women's health care. After graduating from Fordham University, New York, with a major in digital technology and UX design, she started her fight against gender inequality in India through Project Naveli and recently co-founded Aara Health — a women-centric health tech company focused on building, creating and providing scientifically backed health products, services and educational resources for Indian women. Here's what she had to say about issues ranging from the obstacles women face while getting access to basic health care, the need for gender sensitisation, and the importance of mental health.
