Founded in 2018, LXME is not just another financial platform; it's a safe space exclusively designed for women to engage in candid discussions about money and to seize control of their financial futures. Founder, Priti Rathi Gupta, with her extensive experience spanning over two decades in money management, investments, and wealth management, recognised a significant gap between women and financial empowerment. Her brainchild, LXME, was born out of a deep understanding of this gap and an unwavering commitment to bridging it.
As Priti Rathi Gupta puts it, ‘I think the big realisation was that this whole gap between women and money is putting women really out of the whole financial inclusion gamut, is making them compromise in a lot of you know their life aspects. When women don't manage money, they actually retire towards poverty. So which means their existing current life has compromised, but even their future or retired life is hugely compromised.’
Recognising the dearth of time as a factor limiting women's financial engagement, LXME's innovative approach is to consolidate all financial aspects onto a single digital platform.
‘When women talk about money or they think about money, fear is actually the overriding emotion,’ Gupta observes. This fear, rooted in societal conditioning and the need for community acceptance, often prevents women from embracing financial risks. To overcome this, Gupta asserts, ‘Being part of the money community helps to bring down that wall of fear.’
Gupta emphasizes, ‘Financial independence is not just about earning money; earning money is an important component of income.’ True financial freedom is marked by the ability to make life decisions without money serving as a constraint. As Gupta summarises, ‘the ability to take a decision in your life, in your career, on your personal professional front without money being the large decision maker or money really being the impediment in taking that decision, I think to me that is true financial independence. That's true financial freedom.’
