With the festive season approaching, we're sure many of you have already planned your yearly 'Diwali cleaning' routine. Diwali is also an excellent time to reflect on the different things you own and why you own them. Unlike previous years, when socialising and entertaining took precedence, this year everyone has the chance to take a fresh look at their living spaces. Even though we've been cleaning for years, the thought still manages to get us overwhelmed every single time. Picking important places to clear and organise for Diwali is the best way to begin. The kitchen, entryway, and living room, as well as the bathroom and overall décor, are all excellent options.
Diwali Decor
Many of our decorations are packed up in boxes after the festive season, and we often have them cluttering our homes without even realising it. Examine each piece you own and consider whether or not you appreciate seeing them on a daily basis. Edit and rearrange as necessary. Only keep goods that you want to use this holiday season when it comes to festive decor. Get rid of everything that doesn't match your sense of style or utility
Entrance
The first impression of your home is made by its foyer. It's the one place we recommend that you put an effort to maintain clutter-free. Remove everything that isn't necessary from this area. Also, get a new, clean doormat to replace the old one. Now that hand sanitisers and masks are commonplace, keep them in a small box or tray nearby.
Living Room
This is, without a doubt, the most used room in the house. The following are simple actions you can take to organise your living room:
1. Remove any broken or useless items, such as a vase, a stack of papers, or outdated magazines. Examine everything in this room again to see if it belongs there.
2. Put related items together, such as remote controls, books on the bookshelf, and board games.
3. Simple components such as new couch coverings, candles, and fairy lights can be used to refresh and renovate.
Kitchen
Divide your kitchen into four top parts when tidying and organising it. Electrical appliances (mixers, blenders, etc.), cooking pots and pans, raw ingredients (pulses, rice, etc.) and snacks. Examine them by category and get rid of everything you don't think you'll use. They should be organised by category as well. The key to having a well-organised space is editing.
Bathroom
The bathroom is probably one of the areas where we spend the least amount of effort organising and decluttering. It's also a large place with a lot of merchandise. Begin by gathering all of your regularly used items and sorting them by usage. Then go over everything that's left and be honest, keeping only the items that you believe will be used in the future. All expired products should be thrown away. Separately store all of the extra materials. This will assist you in keeping your everyday use area clutter-free.
