CHOSE LIGHT TONES

A solid unified colour scheme can create an illusion of a larger space. Go with soft tones like white, eggshell, powder blue, rose, and lavender, to make the rooms feel brighter, bigger and more inviting. Using a combination of colours or prints, and darker shades make the apartment look busy.
FLOATING SHELVES

Instead of a wall unit or a bulky book shelf invest in some wall shelves. These are easily available online or you can even make it a DIY project. Flaunt your books, indoor plants, pictures and souvenirs in style while you still have ample space to place furniture.
INVEST IN A STORAGE BED

Buy a bed with built-in storage. This is non–negotiable irrespective of the bedroom square-foot. This is the perfect place to store those items that you need maybe once a year or never, but somehow never get rid of them (yes, we get it).
THE DISAPPEARING ACT

Opt for slick foldable wall mounted table that can act both as a shelf and a desk when needed. Perfect for when you need to convert the space into a study or dining space.
WINDOW SEATS

If you are not blessed with a balcony or French windows, the best way to accentuate the area is by creating a window seat. A window seat is a great way to utilise the space surrounded by maximum natural light. You can achieve this buy placing a trunk or storage box and transforming it by adding cushions/pillows. If you don’t mind splurging, you can buy a seat cum storage unit for this space.
GO PETIT

As much as we love the big Venetian vase or the rustic wall painting, small apartments ruin their charm. Create charming vignettes on your window sills or floating shelves. Invest in small succulents and petit vintage and classy decorative pieces.
DEFY GRAVITY

Hang up as much as you can and go as high as you can. Hang up your curtains as close to the ceiling as you can, this creates an illusion of a higher ceiling. Instead of placing floor lamps, opt for wall sconce lighting or hanging lamp shades.
CAPT’N HOOK YOUR KITCHEN

Wall hooks are your best friend in a crammed kitchen. Add metal hooks to that forgotten corner of the kitchen to hang up your pots and pans or your mugs. You can also fix a magnetic strip to hang up your knives.
MIRROR, MIRROR ON THE WALL

Mirrors are perfect objects to create an illusion of a larger space. Install decorative wall mirrors in your living room right above the couch.
