Avani Lekhara, an Indian Paralympic shooter and two-time Paralympic gold medalist, has partnered with Britannia Marie Gold, India’s popular biscuit brand. Avani, who competed in the SH1 rifle class, put a lot of effort into honing her aim from a distance of 10 metres, to strike a target just 4.55 cm in diameter with a bullseye that is 0.5 mm.

Avani’s preparation for the 2024 Paralympics in Paris was quite impressive. A millimetre can make all the difference between winning and losing in shooting, where the bullseye is only somewhat larger than a penny. Avani used breathing exercises, yoga, and mental training to hit the target with perfect accuracy. These techniques helped her control her heartbeat, hold her breath, and concentrate entirely on the target—skills that ultimately contributed to her gold-winning shots.

Britannia Marie Gold has created an Avani Lekhara's Special Edition pack to honour this momentous accomplishment, redesigning the biscuit and its packaging to better capture Avani's journey. The iconic Britannia Marie Gold biscuit has undergone a complete makeover for the first time. Each biscuit has been meticulously crafted to closely match the dimensions of Avani's winning aim at the Paris 2024. Going one step further, the exact spot of Avani's historic winning shot is deeply carved on each biscuit in the pack, offering a concrete example of the incredibly high level of skill and razor-sharp accuracy needed to hit the bullseye from 10 meters.

The Britannia Marie Gold Avani Lekhara Special Edition Pack is exclusively available on Swiggy Instamart in Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Mumbai (since March 7). This will allow millions of Indians to have a piece of history delivered to their homes in less than 10 minutes. In addition to celebrating one of India's greatest sports icons, this project upholds Britannia Marie Gold's legacy of encouraging women. It encourages the next generation to set greater goals and dream bigger.

Lekhara's path has been one of tenacity and resolve, conquering obstacles to win the greatest honours in her sport. Her reputation as a motivator for aspiring athletes, especially young women in India, has been solidified by her two gold medals.
