In a bid to widen the scope for more young blood to join the ranks, the Indian Army has wants to continue the recruitment of Nepali youths, both male and female, to the military police. The announcement comes around the time when speculation of rescinding the policy to recruit potential cadets from Nepal in the Indian Army.
The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu has since called for eligible Nepali females to submit their application online. The announcement comes with a set of criteria, but has also given reprieve to those children who have lost their parents during their service in army.
The criteria states that those who have passed class 10, are aged between 16 to 21 years, or those who were born between October 1, 2000, and April 1, 2004, with a height above than 152 cm, are eligible to apply.
The deadline for submitting applications is July 20. Those considered as Veer Naris (widows of officers/veterans), and are up to the age of 30, are eligible to apply. Those who meet the requirements will be sent for further training and selection to either Ambal, Lucknow, Jabalpur, Pune, Belgaum, or Shillong.
