UK-based fashion brand, Skinnydip, has collaborated with PETA, the animal rights organisation, for a collection to promote cruelty-free fashion. The collection features six limited edition pieces that include T-shirts, a sweatshirt, a hoodie and a phone case.
The pieces feature graphics of rabbits, snakes and a tiger with slogans like “Choose Kindness”. “Fur Is Dead”, “Wear Something, Not Someone” and “Happy In My Own Skin”. The campaign includes pictures of people wearing the garments from the collection, alongside their pets, making it more relatable. With the colourful, yet meaningful messaging, the collaboration aims at educating the world about animal cruelty, all the while promoting animal kindness, something that has been PETA’s longstanding mission. The pieces in the collection are priced between £18 to £35, with 10 per cent of sales proceeds of each sale going directly to PETA.
Skinnydip, the brand that started out selling only designer phone cases, adding apparels and other categories along the way, has also already been certified as cruelty-free by PETA owing to the fact that it does not test on animals, making their products vegan. PETA, which works against animal-cruelty using its investigations and campaigns, has also collaborated with a Portuguese vegan footwear brand, NAE Vegan Shoes, where it receives $5 for each pair sold.
