Music industry’s biggest gala concluded last night at Los Angeles, and be it fashion statements or performances, the event had lots to offer. First up, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande won the award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for Rain On Me. What makes this special is the fact that Grande and Gaga are the first female duet to win in the best pop duo category.
Grande expressed her gratitude to Gaga on Twitter and wrote, “Eternally, deeply grateful for u, for this experience, to have been a part of this song and this celebration of healing and recovery, to be able to dance in the rain with u, to call u my dear friend & to now share this. beyond thankful. congratulations queen, ti voglio bene!”
Beyonce was adjudged the winner of best R&B performance for Black Parade. This award is her 28th win, and with that she has created history by becoming the most awarded female artist.
While accepting the award she said, “Thank you guys. As an artist, I believe it's my job and all of our jobs to reflect the times. I wanted to uplift and encourage all of the Black kings and queens who inspire me and inspire the whole world ... I can't believe this happened, it's such a magical night.”
It was a night to remember for Taylor Swift and all her fans as she became the first female artist ever to win album of the year three times. She won for Folklore. She had previously won for her albums Fearless in 2010 and the pop opus 1989 in 2016.
