Defence Minister Rajnath Singh opened the nation’s first-ever all-girls school in Vrindavan, serving as an inspiration for young women hoping to join the military and defend the country. The school is affiliated with CBSE and will be trained under the guidance of ex-servicemen. With a strength of 870 students, it was founded as part of an initiative to open 100 new Sainik Schools in collaboration with NGOs, commercial organisations, and state government schools in all states and union territories. According to the official announcement, 42 schools have been established so far and 33 Sainik Schools are currently running under the previous pattern. Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath and senior officials of the state government were a part of the inauguration ceremony of Samvid Gurukulam Girls Sainik School.
Better Career Opportunities
The goal of building 100 new Sainik Schools is to give kids a high-quality education in line with the National Education Policy 2020 and to improve their employment possibilities, which includes enlisting in the military. Additionally, it enables the business sector to collaborate with the government in the effort to develop the nation by moulding today’s youth into responsible citizens of the future.
Enlisting Women Candidates In The Military
After years of neglect, women have been given the right to protect the country in the same way as their male counterparts. It is indeed an empowering move for the women in India. The Chief Minister discussed this plan in 2018 and authorised the gradual admittance of female students to Sainik schools from the academic year 2021–2022 in a phased pattern. The decision was made after the Ministry of Defence’s trial initiative at Sainik School Chhingchhip in Mizoram proved successful. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh described Samvid Gurukulam Girls Sainik School as a lighthouse for young women who want to enlist in the military and serve their country.
