The Central Reserve Police Force’s (CRPF) all-woman marching and band contingent will be a part of the upcoming Republic Day parade in India’s national capital, New Delhi. Officials have revealed that this special tableau has been added to the 74th Republic Day celebrations, to be held on January 26, as a part of the overall theme of ‘Nari Shakti’ or women power. The theme was set by the Union government for the Republic Day 2023 celebrations.
The CRPF’s all-women marching and band contingent is currently rehearsing for the parade, which is a national event attended by dignitaries from across the world and watched all over the country, at the Kartavya Path (earlier known as Rajpath).
The CRPF is the country’s largest paramilitary force and has a personnel of 3.25 lakhs, including women. The CRPF is also preparing a tableau on the Nari Shakti theme that will also feature all the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
