The third day of The Greater 50 Conclave and Exhibition was a good example of the post-Covid-19 comeback of conferences and exhibitions in the virtual format. We are all waiting to attend live business conferences, exhibitions and trade shows. Physical events will come back with time, but virtual events like these have been successful in filling in the void. The Greater 50 exhibition allowed attendees and organisations to connect on their virtual platform. From the lobby to the conference room and the auditorium, the experience was similar to that of a physical event. The platform enabled attendees to visit exhibitor stalls, interact with exhibitors and get relevant information.
Similar to the conclave, The Greater 50 exhibition this year, organized by FICCI and FLO with Her Circle as the Digital Media Partner, stayed true to its theme of striving for women empowerment through strategic partnerships. The exhibition supported brands and organisations working towards gender equality.
Some of the exhibitors that caught our attention were:
• Green by Goonj, an organisation working towards building equitable relations between villages and cities,
• SEWA Trade Facilitation Centre working towards providing economic security for rural craftswomen,
• Mushroom Development Foundation, a movement that aims to achieve livelihood-based solutions from agricultural waste, and
• VIDYA India, an initiative to train women to create and sell handcrafted products for financial independence.
The exhibition also showcased organisations like Go Beyond Sports, a digital platform for sports with the vision to inspire the youth to take up a profession in sports, irrespective of their gender. Encouraging women entrepreneurship by working towards building a conducive work environment was exhibitor UdyamStree.
In a post-pandemic world gender equality is not just a right, it is a necessity that must be facilitated through such change-making platforms. The three-day event witnessed leaders, policymakers and organisations come together to support gender empowerment through actionable strategies. Empowering women is the key to empower India. Forums like The Greater 50 take us a step closer to the goal of achieving women empowerment.
