Here comes The Her Circle EveryBODY Project!
A body positive movement where we include all irrespective of weight, body shape, size, height, physical ability, neurodiversity, skin colour, skin texture, and gender orientation. The Her Circle EveryBody Project centres around acceptance, sisterhood, and solidarity - a step towards normalising the reality of being human in all its glorious imperfections. In our first short, we spotlight influencers – Virali Modi, Neha Parulkar, Neelakshi Singh, Apeksha Dusija, and Roma Maity who consistently use digital as their medium, their weapon and their tool to change the way we look at ourselves, helping us move away from unrealistic goals to an unapologetic acceptance of the self. These women are standing tall and taking a stand for what they believe in while fighting the negativity and toxicity around them. In turn inspiring thousands to create conversations on being who you are, with pride. A sisterhood like no other, a bond that forms virtually.
"You don't have to be that person who makes fat jokes about themselves so that people around you can be comfortable. For me, it was very important that I find a platform to get the message across." - Neelakshi Singh
"Disability awareness isn't a thing. No one talks about disability in a positive way. We don't need to be viewed as someone who doesn't have rights or someone who is just not capable of doing anything." - Virali Modi
"Weight is the ultimatum or else you are a loser. Unfortunately, and fortunately, I had to be my own inspiration. These people who I seek validation from, I don't think they genuinely care about my wellbeing, they just care about the way I looked." - Neha Parulkar.
"The word is 'Representation.' I never saw someone who looked like me while I was growing up in mainstream media. So that set a precedence that the way women are shown is the ideal beauty type." - Roma Maity
"We are used to seeing ourselves the way others see us, and we are all in this vicious cycle of trying to fit in. One must accept their beauty and make that the standard." - Apeksha Dusija
