Beauty brand Garnier unveiled an educational collaboration with television network National Geographic earlier this month. The campaign includes a series of awareness driven videos related to beauty and sustainability.
The first few episodes in the series, ‘Can packaging go green?’ and ‘Can beauty formulas go green?’ are already published and can be viewed on the National Geographic website. The videos explore not just sustainability-related roadblocks faced by the beauty industry and consumers but also offers expert tips that consumers can use to choose better daily. Opting for refillable, recycled or environmental packaging are some of the tips mentioned in the episodes.
The collaboration comes as a part of the beauty brand’s ‘Solidarity and Sourcing’ objective, which is a part of its broader ‘Green Beauty’ campaign. The objectives aim at Garnier using zero virgin plastic, empowering 1,000 communities worldwide, sustainably sourcing all of its plant-based renewable ingredients by the year 2025.
Adrien Koskas, Garnier’s global brand president said in a statement about the brand’s sustainability objectives, “We’ve done that with the products we create, from solid shampoo with fast rinse technology, cardboard integrated tubes and refillable products—but we want to go further. Through the work of National Geographic CreativeWorks, we aim to give our consumers access to top experts and their advice for living greener every day."
