As a teenager, Saleha Khan was always struck by the lack of support and education the women of her community in Govandi faced. The young changemaker and social activist decided to take charge of the situation by creating a centre for overall education and growth of the community’s women and girls. Now, Khan works to educate the community of parents and girls about menstruation, menstrual hygiene, malnutrition, education, etc. While the parents often come into conflict with her ideals, ultimately the entire community realises that what she is working towards will lead to the progress of the entire community and especially empower its women and girls. Watch this video now to know more about her journey.
