Forbes has recently released the list of America’s top self-made women billionaires of 2022 covering successful entrepreneurs, executives, entertainers and newcomers. While billionaire Diane Hendricks topped the list for the fifth consecutive time, Sandra Bullock and Emma Grede are among the most talked-about newcomers of America’s richest self-made billionaires.
This year’s list is a clear indicator of how more and more women are constantly breaking the glass ceiling to reach positions of power and relevance. Indian-origin engineer, Jayshree V Ullal has made it to the list this year, and her success story of transforming firms and companies is an inspiration for every aspiring entrepreneur.
Ullal, the president and CEO of Arista Networks which is a computer networking firm, has been heading Arista Networks since 2018, and is responsible for the company becoming a multi-billion dollar business through an IPO in June 2014. Interestingly, Ullal who had joined the firm when it had no revenues and fewer than 50 employees is known to have driven the success and the fortunes of the firm.
Ullal is also on the board of directors of Snowflake, a cloud computing company that went public in September 2020. Other Indian American women who made it to the Forbes list are Neerja Sethi, co-founder of Syntel; Neha Narkhede, co-founder and former CTO of Confluent; former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi, and Reshma Shetty, co-founder of Ginkgo Bioworks.
