Do you love sushi? It seems like when it comes to sushi, people either can’t get enough or they’ve never tried it. There are many different types of sushi, but one of the most popular types in restaurants all over tends to be makizushi (“maki” means “to roll” and zushi” is the conjugated version of the word “sushi”).

MAKES:
2 Maki Rolls
INGREDIENTS:
* 2 Seaweed Sheets (nori sheets)
* 1 cup Cooked rice
* 1 Carrot, cut into thin strips
* 1 Cucumber, cut into thin strips
* Cream cheese, in a piping bag
* Gochujang paste, in a piping bag (optional)
* 1/2 cup Rice Vinegar
* 1 tablespoon Sugar, (Adjust according to your preference)
* Salt, to taste
METHOD:
1. To begin making the Vegetarian Sushi recipe, cook sushi rice according to instruction given on the pack.
2. Keep aside, preferably in a wooden bowl so that the bowl absorbs all the extra moisture.
3. Now cut the vegetables into thin strips.
4. Season and Keep aside.
5. Add the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt to the rice. Mix well.
6. Place one nori sheet on a sushi mat
7. Spread a thin layer of rice mixture over it. Don't cover the edges. Pro Tip: Keep your fingers and palms wet while spreading sushi rice to prevent the rice from sticking to your hands.
8. Arrange the vegetables in a single line. Don't overcrowd.
9. Pipe on the cream cheese and Gochujang.
10. Start rolling it as shown in the video.
11. Press it so that the roll gets tightened.
12. Using a sharp knife, cut the roll into half first and then cut them into 1/2 inch thick pieces. Pro Tip: Keep cleaning the knife to get nice clean pieces.
13. Sprinkle on some sesame seeds and pipe on some spicy mayo (optional)
14. Serve Sushi with wasabi and soy sauce.
