Trying to decide if something in your wardrobe needs replacing? Here’s how you can take a call!
Lingerie
When it comes to lingerie, especially bras, some of the things you need for a comfortable fit are elasticity and a good fit. This means, that if your bras are losing shape or are loose even on the tightest hook, it may be time to replace them. Not to mention, worn-out back straps and unravelling fabrics are also a sign that your bra needs replacing. That said, an open stitch or underwire peeking out can be fixed easily!
Shoes
Shoes have a rather simple tell when they get worn out. A torn sole or upper material can be signs of your pair needing a replacement. However, with access to so many new service platforms that can upcycle your old shoe into completely new pairs, it may be valuable to have them check it out before you give an old pair out for a new one.
Accessories
When it comes to metal-based accessories like jewellery, tarnished pieces are usually an easy turnaround. While oxidised pieces can be given a new life easily with some toothpaste and a gentle wash, there are many metal paints available today to give gold and silver finishes to your jewellery too. However, metal that is giving you rashes or is evidently rusted should definitely be given away and replaced with hypoallergenic ones!
Denim
Denim can last you years if you take care of it well. This is why it can be hard to give your old pair out for new ones easily. However, if your pair has become too tight for comfort, it may be healthier to donate it for one that fits you better. Jeans that have lost their elasticity can sometimes make for great upcycling pieces!
