In the realm of fashion jewellery, Voyce emerges as a distinctively Indian homegrown brand, orchestrating a harmonious blend of contemporary aesthetics and ethical craftsmanship. With a fervent commitment to empowering the modern woman's style narrative, Voyce transforms accessories into expressions of individuality and elegance.
Voyce finds its roots in the visionary mind of Vaishnavi Murali, an art curator and gallerist, who started the brand in 2021. “Working with various artists and artisans, I have seen many of them explore new mediums, forms and materials. I have worked with multiple materials and mediums myself too, as part of Eikowa Studio. This got me thinking about how l could take this to a wider number of people. So, I thought it would be nice to make wearable art, and jewellery seemed to be the perfect way to explore the same,” she says. Murali weaves her curatorial brilliance and artistic sensibilities into Voyce’s jewellery with a distinctive blend of artistry and refinement. “Our collections are contemporary, and our design intent has been to keep our designs very clean, simple and bold. We aim to strip down the essence of the piece to its core when we design – this not only makes our designs elegant and impactful but makes us stand out versus designs with elaborate structures,” Murali adds. Both of Voyce’s collections so far are inspired by abstract art, which Murali considers a guiding principle, giving the pieces an aesthetic minimalistic yet modern. While Voyce's "Ethereal" collection draws inspiration from the cosmic universe, the Riva collection is inspired by ceramic art.
Beyond aesthetics, Voyce is a brand deeply committed to sustainability and ethical responsibility. “We are very particular about the materials we source for Voyce and aim to reflect sustainability and responsibility in our sourcing,” points out Murali. Voyce takes pride in minimizing its carbon footprint, recycling brass, and sourcing crystals from Responsible Jewellery Council-certified suppliers. Ensuring a clean, safe adornment, Voyce's jewellery is nickel, cadmium, and lead-free. “Additionally, all our jewellery is handmade by local Indian artisans as we aim to help the local business sustainability, protect traditional craftsmanship and keep our carbon footprint minimal. While keeping the sustainability theme at the centre, we have made every effort to celebrate the materials that we work with as seen in our designs,” says Murali.
When it comes to her journey in entrepreneurship, the founder has a unique experience encompassing two unique spaces- fashion and art. “The journey in entrepreneurship is hard and you will succeed as long as you stay positive, have your eye on the prize and have the agility to make fixes when you see an issue coming up. The other key element is to spend a disproportionate amount of time on major decisions versus minor activities,” she says.
