With sustainability as the focal point for the month of June 2022, we, at Her Circle, strived our best to keep things at our cover shoot as eco-friendly as possible. The brands that supported us on the fashion front played a huge role in not only keeping it sustainable thanks to their brand ideologies but also got our cover women looking and feeling stylish.
Doodlage has been among the forefront of Indian brands championing sustainability before sustainable fashion was looked at as seriously as it is today. At Doodlage, making good use of everything, in simple words, has been central to the brand’s ideologies. Their collections are made by upcycling factory waste, a great step towards sustainability itself. But Doodlage takes this a step further as they also recycle post-consumer waste and cutting scraps to create new fabrics, accessories, packaging and other products. The brand’s packaging is also designed to be free of plastic. While the brand’s post-production waste is sourced from exporters and manufacturing units just around Delhi (where the brand is based), its post-consumer waste-based recycled fabrics are sourced from vendors or developed with other certified units.

Doodlage’s brand collaborations with other Indian homegrown brands have been most interesting, giving us unique collections for an array of products. Be it the upcycled shoe collection with Oceedee or the collaboration with Arture that resulted in a collection of accessories made of cork, a waterproof and sustainable alternative to plastic, Doodlage’s collaborations extend its sustainable ideologies to other brands too.
