With our ‘Free Of Rules’ series, we’re here to bust age-old fashion myths related to age, size, height and many more criteria that tend to dictate what women wear. Let’s face it- it’s 2022, and it’s time to be free of unnecessary fashion rules!
Rule To Ditch #1: Oversized silhouettes will make you look smaller
This is often something women on the leaner side are told while styling themselves. The fact is that oversized silhouettes can be uber-comfy and we all need a bit of that on some days. So if you’ve been unwillingly keeping away from oversized styles, it may be time to reconsider. If you’re an oversized newbie and need a push to get started, use accessories like belts or layering tricks to make the look more put together without compromising on style.

Rule To Ditch #2: It’s okay to pay more for bigger sizes
Fat tax is beyond passé. Being a certain size should definitely not be a deciding factor for what you pay for a garment, especially not if a brand’s prices differ as per sizes. Feel free to ditch not only the fat tax norm but also brands that follow it!

Rule To Ditch #3: You have to wear fuller silhouettes to look fuller
The petite girl gang will more than agree that one of the most annoying things people say to them (after comments on how they should eat more), is how they should embrace fuller silhouettes to look curvy or of a certain size. Make sure you ignore this ditch-worthy rule. If you do wish to highlight certain parts of your body over others simply because you love them, look at choosing colours and patterns that catch attention and add a style quotient because a fuller silhouette simply won’t cut it!

Rule To Ditch #4: Black should be your uniform if you are curvy
To be restricted to one colour because you are a certain size sounds and is ridiculous! While black is an absolute go-to for so many of us, it does a lot more than provide the illusion of being a smaller size. Opt for your blacks with statement pieces for a super stylish and elegant look. On the flip side, make sure you embrace all shades you’d like to on the colour spectrum to make the most of your personal style.
