The festive season is upon us and with it, all the glorious festive wear that you’ll be adorning. We’re here with some easy hacks to make your festive outfits a treat! Be it a fault zipper or tarnished jewellery, these tips will be super helpful the next time you’re getting dressed for the festivities!
Easy Earrings
Heavy earrings are a usual companion for traditional Indian outfits. That said, every once in a while, you may lose the earring screw amidst celebrations and chaos. If you don’t have an extra one on you, you can use a small piece of eraser as a last-minute replacement. It will not only be an outfit saviour but will also be sturdy enough to keep heavy earrings in place for a while.

Zip Up
Embellishments and draped fabrics can get zippers to get stuck easily while you’re putting them on or off. An easy way to make it glide off would be to rub on some lip balm where the zipper is stuck. Make sure the lip balm is clear to ensure it doesn’t leave a stain onto the fabric around the zipper.
Powdered Down
Embellishments and fabrics like net or tissue can end up leaving you with rashes or irritable skin. While adding a piping to such fabrics can help avoid that, you can also sprinkle some baby powder on your skin before putting your outfit on. This will help avoid extra friction or sweat and thus any irritation caused from direct contact with your skin.
Good As New
If your traditional jewellery ends up seeing the light of day only during the festive season, you’re not alone. While it’s great to be using your jewellery again in different ways, both fine and fashion jewellery can end up looking tarnished if not used that often. There are some super-easy ways to get your jewellery to look as good as new in a jiffy. For fine jewellery, some warm water and soap should do the trick. For gold-plated jewellery, make sure you use a microfiber cloth soaked in soapy water to give it a gentle rub. Some toothpaste and a gentle brush can bring back the shine for oxidised silver jewellery.
