The film's plot is based on current-day Delhi University and explores parallels between how things would change if today's youth were as driven as those in pre-independence India. A favourite among the masses, this movie can be watched a number of times.

After defeating terrorists, a naive young man searches for the purpose of his life atop a peak at 26,000 feet. The visuals of the army officers preparing for war, are sure to instil a sense of pride in you.

3. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
The biopic based on one of India's most famous athletes, the late Milkha Singh, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, stirred a lot of patriotism, as one man ran to put India on the world map of athletics.

4. Swades
Director Ashutosh Gowariker's ambitious film featured a well-established Indian working for NASA who, while on vacation to meet his childhood nanny, rediscovers his roots and falls in love with the country all over again.

5. Chak De! India
The film, which is the most technically advanced sports film ever made in India, took us on a trip with 15 young hockey players from the women’s team, who beat all odds and take the team to immortal glory.
